This October, the Happy Turtle Café landed in the Happy Valley providing Caloundra locals and visitors with coffee, house baked goods, vibrant salads, sandwiches, Açai bowls, cold pressed juices and smoothies.

In collaboration with Murphy Builders and the Sunshine Coast Council, Premier Box were commissioned to convert one of our 20ft High Cube shipping containers into this sustainable fully functioning kitchen café.

Our modifications team got to work fitting out the container with fully insulated walls and stainless steel interiors. Premier Box modifications included:

  • Two awnings – one constructed from standard panel and the second a tailor made glass awning
  • Full stainless steel fit out including bench tops, sinks, shelving and range hood with extractor
  • Customised flooring
  • Customised electrical fit out to cater for coffee machines, fridges, ovens, fryers etc
  • Customised plumbing fit out

Once all the modifications were complete, local Caloundra artists; Thom and Marni Stuart, painted the container with a mural inspired by Pumicestone Passage surrounding the Happy Valley. This artwork combined with the beautifully painted signage by Happy Turtle Café operator Chloe Donaldson, has created a great addition to the Happy Valley landscape.

Now running this exciting new venture, Chloe Donaldson is no stranger to health, hospitality and the Happy Valley. Chloe was the manager of the Happy Valley Coffee Van, a popular and well-loved business run by Rob Muston. After 15 years parked by the seaside, Rob served his last coffee from the van this August, handing over the baton to Chloe to continue a friendly and community-driven service.

Chloe is also studying Naturopathy and aims to provide an environmentally friendly business with healthy food and recyclable initiatives as well as remaining produce being given to the homeless.

Premier Box are extremely proud to have been a part of this new Caloundra business and we wish Chloe and her team all the best for the future!
